For the second straight season, Eli Gingerich found himself on top of the North.
After being named the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division Player of the Year a season ago, Gingerich was named the division?s co-player of the year for 2015-16, sharing the honors with Lone Tree?s Jovonte Squiers.
The IMS senior averaged 17.6 points per game this season, and tied for the team lead in rebounds, averaging 4.5 per game.
Gingerich?s vision on the court is what helped him stand out, however, as he dished out 144 assists (six per game) this year, to go with 77 steals (3.2 per game) and 14 blocks.
Gingerich will be continuing his career at Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana.
To go with the co-Player of the Year honors, Gingerich was named to the first-team All-Conference, and was joined by IMS junior Nick Yutzy, who earned second-team honors.
Yutzy averaged 10.7 points and 4.1 assists per game for IMS, and will be a key returner for the squad next season.
IMS junior Drake Brezina was also named to the postseason list, earning honorable mention, with an average of 6.7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
