Girls basketball: Cardinal wins pair

Cardinal 60, Central Lee 59

Cardinal narrowly defeated Central Lee in the two’s Monday night matchup.

Kinsey Hissem finished with 20 points for the Comets. Ava Ferrell ended with 18 and Brenna Guiter had 12 along with nine boards.

Cardinal 47, Seymour 35

Cardinal followed up the victory over Central Lee with a win against Seymour on Tuesday.

The Comets outscored the Warriors 26-15 in the first half and 21-20 in the second.

Kinsey Hissem led with 21 points. Brenna Guiter followed with nine points and 12 rebounds. Cynthia Albert ended with eight points.

English Valleys 44, Columbus 28

The Wildcats struggled to score against the Bears on Tuesday night.

The Bears led 23-10 at the half, but Columbus rallied in the third to make it 31-24.

In the fourth, English Valleys won the scoring battle 13-4 to seal it.

Lily Coil led the Wildcats with 13 points and seven rebounds in the loss. Sara Vela ended with eight and Ariana Vergara had seven.
