Girls? basketball competes at Drake

Mt. Pleasant girls? basketball went 4-1 in Division III play this past weekend at the Drake University Team Camp in Des Moines.

Fourteen Mt. Pleasant girls attended and all made significant contributions during the weekend, according to Coach Joanna Settles.

?All of the girls played hard and they love the game," Settles said. "They will all continue to get better and I?m looking forward to working with them in the November.?

The team also managed to spend some time shopping and have dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.

?It was a fun couple of days to get to know the girls and spend some quality time with them off of the court,? Settles said.

Panther girls who attended the Drake Team Camp included Natalie Booten, Brooke Johnson, Gabby Hill, Natalie Meyers, Chloe Haffarnan, Taryne Shull, Kelsey Smith, Leslie Taylor, Kelsi Phipps, Mary Wester, Natalie Ita, Hannah Becker, Kaitlyn Johnson, and Jena Stukerjurgen.
