Results from a packed weekend of prep girls basketball.
Mid-Prairie 37, West Branch 29
The Golden Hawks used a 10-2 first quarter to knock off West Branch on the road.
Amara Jones scored 10 points to lead the way for Mid-Prairie. Landry Pacha filled the stat sheet with eight points, seven rebounds and four steals.
Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont 81, Cardinal 32
The Comets ran into a buzz saw as EBF scored 53 first-half points en route to their sixth blowout win of the season.
Keota 40, Tri-County 26
Keota used a strong second half to storm back from a 19-16 deficit and beat Tri-County at home.
Kimberly Clarahan hit three 3-pointers in a 15-point outing. Nicole Clarahan added 11 points of her own, and both Izzi Chalupa and Ava Greiner pulled down eight rebounds.
WACO 60, Columbus 41
Waco scored a game-high 17 points in the first quarter and never looked back, earning a Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division road win.
Ellah Kissell went for 26 points to lead the Warriors. Emma Wagler had 12.
Victoria Howell knocked down four 3-pointers to finish with 14 points for Columbus. Sera Vela scored nine.
WACO 55, Keota 21 (Saturday)
Kissell followed her 26-point night on Friday with 21 on Saturday. Kimberly Clarahan led Keota with nine.
No. 14 (1A) Winfield-Mount Union 59, Wapello 31
The Wolves led by just eight points at halftime but busted the game open in the second half.
Bradie Buffington finished the night with 20 points, 10 rebounds and six blocked shots. Keetyn Townsley had 13 points and six steals. Keely Malone had 12 points and five assists, and Melina Oepping finished with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
No. 14 (1A) Winfield-Mount Union 55, Hillcrest Academy 13
Winfield-Mount Union dominated early, leading 23-0 after one quarter and 37-1 at halftime. The Wolves are a perfect 8-0.
Holy Trinity 51, New London 18
The Tigers couldn’t hold home court, falling in a SEISC South Division clash.
Central Lee 43, Van Buren County 38
The Warriors were within a couple of baskets in a SEISC South game against Central Lee, but in the end, the Hawks were too much.
