Girls basketball roundup: Mid-Prairie, WACO winners

WACO 49, Highland 20
WACO held Highland to single digits in each of the four quarters on Tuesday. The Warriros took the first 13-6, second 12-5, third 9-1 and fourth 15-8 for their fifth win of the season.
It’s WACO’s third win in a row and Highlands third loss.
Sarah Burton led Highland with 14 points and 19 rebounds.
Mid-Prairie 48, Wilton 39
Mid-Prairie dominated the first quarter of action against Wilton.
The Golden Hawks outscored the Beavers 25-12 in the first half. Wilton clawed back with a 17-9 third, cutting the Mid-Prairie lead to five 34-29. The Golden Hawks ended strong with a 14-10 final quarter to win it.
Josie Greiner finished with 12 points for Mid-Prairie. Landry Pacha followed with 11 and Amara Jones ended with nine.
Mediapolis 77, New London 31
Mediapolis scored 52 points to New London’s 21 through two quarter Tuesday night. The Bullets took the final two as well, 25-10. The Tigers are still searching for their first win.
Natalie Burden led the Tigers with 12 points and seven rebounds. Morgan Jones followed with seven. Sophie Malott and Mylee Miller each had four.
Davis County 73, Cardinal 31
Cardinal turned the ball over 11 times in the first quarter as Davis County lead 21-0 after one. At the half the Mustange held onto a 36-11 lead and after three the Comets trailed 50-19.
Kinsey Hissem led the Comets with 10 points.
