Van Buren County 45, New London 24
Van Buren County ended strong against New London on Tuesday night in the two’s Southeast Iowa Super Conference South bout.
The Warriors led the Tigers by just two, 8-6, after one, but extend it to 20-11 after a 12-5 second quarter. Both squads scored nine in third, but the Warriors ended with their best quarter of the night outscoring the Tigers 16-4 in the final period.
Sophia Jirak led VBC with 18 points and eight rebounds. Marlee Mertens had 12 and Addison Brauns eight.
For New London, Mylee Miller scored 10. Megan Lee had seven and Morgan Jones five.
Columbus 46, Hillcrest Academy 33
Columbus continues to show out in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North. The Wildcats led the Ravens by just four, 20-16, at the half, but Columbus went on to outscore Hillcrest Academy 26-17 in the second half.
Lily Coil led Columbus with 23 points. Isabel Rendon followed with 11 and Ariana Vergara eight.
Highland 53, Cedar Valley Christian 4
Highland thrashed Cedar Valley Christian on Tuesday evening.
The Huskies gave up just two points in the first half, while scoring 28 of their own. Highland continued to thrive in the second half, topping CVC 25-2.
Hailey Brun led Highland with 14 points. Katie Herrig ended with 11 and Katelyn Thomann had eight.
Lone Tree 74, Winfield-Mt. Union 35
Lone Tree put together a dominant performance against Winfield-Mt. Union on Tuesday. The Lions outscored the Wolves 45-20 in the first half and then 29-15 in the second half.
No. 3 Regina Catholic 59, Mid-Prairie 49
Mid-Prairie came up short to Regina Catholic on Tuesday. The Golden Hawks led the Regals 28-24 at the half, but went on to get outscored 35-21 in the second half.
Callie Huber finished with 14 points and eight rebounds for Mid-Prairie. Brylee Gearhart had 10 and Izzy Kite six.
Clarke Community 54, Cardinal 33
No. 2 North Mahaska 66, Keota 26
Keota suffered a tough loss against North Mahaska Tuesday night.
The Eagles faced a 42-11 deficit at the half and could never get back into it as the Warhawks closed with a 24-15 second half.
