Girls bowling ends at state qualifier
Mt. Pleasant, Fairfield and Washington come up short in qualifying tournament

The girls bowling season came to end last Monday as Mt. Pleasant, Fairfield and Washington all came up short in their perspective state qualifying meet.
Mt. Pleasant competed in the Class 2A qualifying meet held in Keokuk.
The meet featured eight teams, including the Panthers, which were Keokuk, Central DeWitt, Clinton, North Scott, Oskaloosa, Burlington and Pella.
The Panthers finished with a score of 2,295, good enough for fifth in the meet.
Keokuk took first overall in the meet with a score of 2,936 and Central DeWitt finished second with 2,478. The two qualify for the state meet with the top two scores.
Both Fairfield and Washington took part in the Class 1A state qualifying meet at Louisa-Muscatine.
The competition featured Louisa-Muscatine, Durant, Davis County and West Burlington along with the Trojans and Demons.
Fairfield and Washington came up just short of qualifying for state as Fairfield finished fourth with a total score of 2,036. Washington tallied a total score of 904 in the final meet.
Louisa-Muscatine, 2,996, and Durant, 2,509 took first and second punching their ticket to state.
