Mid-Prairie places second in home tournament

Mid-Prairie just narrowly missed taking the team title at its home tournament on Friday.

The Golden Hawks finished with 162 points, just behind champion Western Dubuque, 163.5.

Cardinal also competed finishing sixth with 79.5 points. WACO was also present, finished ninth with 40 points.

The Golden Hawks got individual titles from Austyn Sexton (110), Gabby Gingerich (115), Ashlee Farrier (130) and Cassie Trimpe (155).

Cardinal’s was led by Joey Tedrow at 190. Tedrow finished second. Reagan Vaughn (155), Macy Grove (140) and Malery McFarland (105) both finished third.

For WACO, Elyssa Graber finished first at 105. Cayten Coakley was the next highest finisher for the Warriors, placing fourth at 120.

Pekin and Columbus/WMU compete in Pella Invitational

Both Pekin and Columbus were in action on Saturday in the Pella Invitational.

The Panthers ended the day in ninth with 87 points, while Columbus finished 16th with eight points.

Pekin’s Lexa Nelson placed third at 105. Ella Rose (145) followed in fourth and Bree Earnest (120) fifth.

Columbus had no placers, but Aubrey Aalencia (115) and Kalley Deese (125) both picked up wins.

Sigourney-Keota 12th at Northwest Invite

Sigourney-Keota ended the weekend with a 12th place finish at the Northwest Invite on Saturday.

The Cobras got a first place victory from Reanah Utterback at 115. She moves to 39-0.

Sadie Clarahan (125) and Kia Montgomery (130) both placed eighth.

Highland places 16th in Oelwein Girls Invitational

Highland was the lone Union area team at the Oelwein Girls Invitational on Saturday. The Huskies finished the day in 16th out of 19 total teams.

Maiya Singbeil was the lone Huskies to compete, finishing fourth at 130. Singbeil won three matches on the day.
