Wapello — The Union area had six teams in cross-country action at Heritage Oaks Golf Course in Wapello on Thursday night. Pekin junior Chloe Glosser shined for the area, taking home individual gold in the 2024 Mike Jay Invitational.
Glosser fought through a tough area field, sticking close with the other leaders ain the early goings before turning on the jets to win the girls’ race by 54 seconds.
“It’s pretty good weather, and it’s a nice course,” said Glosser after the race. “There’s pretty views and it’s pretty flat, so I liked it.”
Glosser helped Pekin take third place as a team. The Panther girls scored 96 points.
