Golden Hawk wrestlers win first two duals
The Mid-Prairie wrestling team opened its season with dual wins over Wapello and host English Valleys on Tuesday night. The Golden Hawks edged the Indians 45-36 and defeated the Bears 49-24.

Jacob Adrian, Mid-Prairie?s 145-pounder, 182-pounder Phirom Peterschmidt, 195-pounder Nearoth Peterschmidt and 220-pounder Ben Fiordalise each pinned their opponents in the Wapello dual. Mid-Prairie 138-pounder Johnny Beckler also won an 11-9 decision.
Adrian, 152-pounder Miguel Sanchez and 195-pounder Cody Mason each pinned their opponents in the English Valleys dual. Nearoth Peterschmidt won a major decision, and 170-pounder Cameron Tolander edged English Valleys? Brennen Grimm 11-10.
