Golden Hawks 4th in baseball preseason rankings

The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association released preseason rankings for the season that started Monday.
The River Valley Conference has three teams mentioned in Class 2A with Mid-Prairie ranked fourth, Durant seventh and Wilton getting votes. Both Mid-Prairie and Durant lost in the first round of the state tournament last year. Champion Van Meter is ranked first.
Class 4A champion Johnston and 1A Don Bosco are both ranked third while Norwalk, last year’s 3A champions, is nowhere to be found on the list.
The Super Conference had a single mention with New London listed among others.
