Golden Hawks finish eighth at their home tourney
The Mid-Prairie boys? golf team took eighth place out of 10 teams at its home Hawk Invite on Tuesday at the Kalona Golf Club.
The Golden Hawks totaled an 18-hole team score of 382, finishing one stroke behind seventh-place West Branch. Mount Vernon won the tournament with a 335.

The Mid-Prairie boys? golf team took eighth place out of 10 teams at its home Hawk Invite on Tuesday at the Kalona Golf Club.
The Golden Hawks totaled an 18-hole team score of 382, finishing one stroke behind seventh-place West Branch. Mount Vernon won the tournament with a 335.
Junior Trever Owens fired a 10-over-par 82 to lead Mid-Prairie and finish third individually. Sophomore Devon Young added a 90, and freshman Paul Hawbaker shot a 104. Senior Tyler Davis rounded out the scoring with a 106. Junior Gabe Miezcnikowski shot a 118, and senior David Lindemann had a 130.
IMS, which was also playing on its home course, finished 10
th
with a 476. Junior Tanner Leyden carded a 102 to lead IMS, and junior Richard Deming had a 120. Junior Brent Brenneman shot a 124, and junior Zach Hill had a 130 to round out the scoring. Junior Ben Miller came in with a 135, and senior Thaddeus Yoder had a 137.
