Golden Hawks fly to league win

CAMANCHE -- It was a 56-34 River Valley Conference win for the Golden Hawks Monday when Mid-Prairie traveled to Camanche.
Both teams scored 12 points in the second quarter but Mid-Prairie had a 17-6 lead after the first quarter and 45-24 after the third stanza.
WACO drops road game
DONNELLSON - The WACO girls couldn't quite keep up with a tough Central Lee squad, falling 65-53.
Central Lee led 19-11 after one quarter, 40-25 at halftime and 53-34 after three quarters. Hawks standout Mya Mershmann scored 31 points.
Morgan Graber led WACO with 17 points in the loss. Ellah Kissell had 15 points. Molly McLaughlin scored 11. Aubri Garnsey had six, and both Grace Cobleand Lela-Ann Fort finished with two.
Comets lose halftime lead
ELDON - The Cardinal girls basketball team fell victim to an Albia comeback to lose a nonconference home game 52-48.
The Comets held a 34-24 lead against the Lady Dees at halfime. Albia held the Comets to just 14 points over the final two quarters.
