WILTON - Mid-Prairie scored at least 40 points for the second consecutive football game Friday, blasting the Beavers 40-6.
'Our defense has played well, especially our defensive line,” Mid-Prairie coach Pete Cavanaugh said. Mid-Prairie shut out Pekin last week. 'Guys like Jack Baker, Isaac Boucher and Josh Wallington are playing at a high level.”
Justice Jones, who had an interception for the Golden Hawks, added 6.5 tackles as did Vinny Bowlin.
'On offense, we continue to have a run/pass balance,” Cavanaugh said. 'Kayden Reinier had his best game to date with three rushing touchdowns. Brad Tornow was very effective by going 9 for 10 and a touchdown. We have a big challenge this week with Class 3A Liberty.”
Reinier ran for 149 yards on 22 carries. Zeb Danner caught the scoring pass. Baker had four receptions for 64 yards.
Mid-Prairie is 2-1 and plays at Iowa City Liberty Friday.
