WELLMAN - The Mid-Prairie High School football team recorded a 60-7 win over Central Lee Friday, despite trailing early in the game.
'We got off to a slow start with an early turnover,” Mid-Prairie head coach Pete Cavanaugh. 'But for the final 40 minutes we played well.”
Kayden Renier had another great game for Mid-Prairie with two touchdowns, 141 yards and 16 carries. Keegan Gingerich had a 31-yard TD run, a 53-yard TD catch and a fumble recovery for a TD.
'A big turning point was Josh Wallington's fumble recovery for a TD that went 98 yards,” Cavanaugh said.
Tyler Helmuth and Jack Baker scored their first TDs of the year.
Mid-Prairie is 1-0 in the district, 3-2 overall and plays at Williamsburg Friday
