Golden Hawks still No. 1
Mid-Prairie baseball touts top ranking in Class 1A

The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association released its new rankings on Monday for Class 1A-4A prep baseball.
At No. 1 once again was the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks. Mid-Prairie retained its No. 1 status in Class 2A, bringing a 9-2 record into this week.
The Golden Hawks are ranked just above defending state champion Van Meter and Kuemper Catholic. The Golden Hawks are coming off a semifinal run at last year’s state tournament.
Mid-Prairie bolstered its resume a pair of wins over Tipton and a pair of wins over West Branch last week.
Other top-ranked teams include Newman Catholic, which leads the Class 1A rankings Western Dubuque is tops in Class 3A, and undefeated Ankeny Centennial is No. 1 in Class 4A.
