Grandson of MP residents to compete Friday in high school football championship
Tarin Phillips is gearing up with the rest of his team for the biggest football game of its season.
Phillips, son of Tony Phillips and Bobbi (Parks) Phillips of the Des Moines area, and grandson of Ron and Jan Crow of Mt. Pleasant, is a starting middle linebacker and special teams football player for West Des Moines Valley High School.

Tarin Phillips is gearing up with the rest of his team for the biggest football game of its season.
Phillips, son of Tony Phillips and Bobbi (Parks) Phillips of the Des Moines area, and grandson of Ron and Jan Crow of Mt. Pleasant, is a starting middle linebacker and special teams football player for West Des Moines Valley High School.
The senior has 97 tackles this season, and will compete with his team against Bettendorf in the 4A championship game.
The Tigers, undefeated at 13-0, beat Ankeny 14-3 to get to the final game of the season, and will play the championship on Friday, Nov 18, at the Unidome.
