BURLINGTON — The Mt. Pleasant boys basketball team has been on a hot streak of late, winning its last four games. That streak was ended Friday on the road at Burlington.
Mt. Pleasant jumped out to an early lead, but Burlington used a big second half to top the Panthers, 57-43.
The Panthers led the Grayhounds 7-5 at the end of the first quarter, but it was Burlington outscoring Mt. Pleasant the rest of the way.
Burlington won the second quarter 16-10, giving them a 21-17 advantage at the break.
The Grayhounds didn’t let off the gas in the second half, and the Panthers never had an answer. Mt. Pleasant was outscored 36-26 in the second half.
The Panthers were led with 14 points by Payton Hagans. Owen Vansickel chipped in 10.
