CHARITON — Not much is guaranteed in the world of athletics, but Cardinal’s Griffin Greiner is at least guaranteed to turn some heads, and he does so pretty quickly.
In Tuesday’s track meet at Chariton, the Comets’ speedy junior once again dominated the sprints.
Greiner out paced the field in the 100-meter dash, winning in 11.57 seconds, and added a dominant 200-meter dash, crossing in 23.14 seconds.
The Comets’ leading man also won the long jump, doing so by more than two feet. Greiner jumped 19 feet, three-and-a-half inches for yet another victory.
The Comets took a win in the 110-meter high hurdles. Ian Liles bested the competition in 18.6 seconds, beating out teammate Konnor Sanders, who finished second, in 18.83 seconds.
As a team, the Comets took fifth place out of 13 schools, scoring 132 points.
