Group tennis lessons to begin Monday

Fairfield High School varsity tennis coach Bill Sheppard will be leading group tennis lessons on the Fairfield Middle School courts Monday-June 29.

A session for children in kindergarten through fifth grade is scheduled from 9-9:50 a.m., and children in grades six through eight will meet from 10-10:50 a.m. each day. A session for high school students will be from 11-11:50 a.m.

In addition, an adult session for those past high school age will run 7-8 p.m. each day.

The lessons will emphasis fundamental tennis skills. Activities will include drills, competition, scoring and individual skills development.

Cost for each session, split up into 10 lessons, is $50. Tennis balls will be provided, as will junior-size rackets to elementary-age students who need them.
