Guy leads field of 58 golfers in Solon
The group of area golfers that travels eastern Iowa to play in outings to raise money for the American Cancer Society played at Saddleback Ridge Golf Course in Solon on July 31.
Larry Guy fired a 73 to lead a field of 58 golfers, and Craig Arbuckle shot a 76. Bill Westphal carded a 77, Doug Dunlap shot a 78, and Leonard Kull had a 79.

The group of area golfers that travels eastern Iowa to play in outings to raise money for the American Cancer Society played at Saddleback Ridge Golf Course in Solon on July 31.
Larry Guy fired a 73 to lead a field of 58 golfers, and Craig Arbuckle shot a 76. Bill Westphal carded a 77, Doug Dunlap shot a 78, and Leonard Kull had a 79.
Jerry Westermark won the handicap competition, with Ben Turner taking second place. Ira Wagner finished third, while LaVerne Geyer, Maynard Goff and Ed Weeks tied for fourth place. Ted Drain and Bob Zager tied for seventh place.
Tom English, Ray Carter and Wendell Eden tied for first place in the nine-hole tournament.
