Harlan leads Class 3A football rankings

Ahead of Week 1 in Iowa High School football, a batch of rankings came out over the weekend. In it was Class 3A, and although neither Fairfield or Washington made the list, a familiar foe found itself in the rankings.

Solon, the Class 3A District 5 favorite, was ranked No. 3 heading into the season.

Solon will play the pair of Union area foes on back-to-back weeks. Washington will travel to play the Spartans on Sept. 30, and Fairfield will get its shot at home on Oct. 7.

Defending Class 3A champion Harlan swept all six first place votes. The Cyclones bring a wealth of talent back after an undefeated season.
