Harmsen, Nonnenmann are Elite

WELLMAN - There were eight Golden Hawks recognized for basketball prowess when the All-River Valley Conference teams were named this week.
Mid-Prairie's Maddie Nonnenmann was a choice for the girls Elite Team. Mid-Prairie's Carter Harmsen was one of three unanimous choices to the Elite boys team. Justin Recker of Monticello and Jordan Lawrence of Camanche were the other two unanimous selections.
Both Harmsen and Nonnenmann are juniors.
Harmsen was second in points scored, defensive rebounds, field goals made, rebounds, field goal attempts, field goals made and free throw percentage. He was third in both free throws attempted and made, fifth in offensive rebounds and 3-pointers made.
Nonnenmann was first in defensive rebounds, fifth in the RVC South Division in points scored, rebounds, field goal percentage and blocks and third in field goals made.
Mid-Prairie seniors Myah Lugar and Phelan Hostetler made the South Division team and Sophomore Amara Jones was picked for honorable mention.
Senior Aidan Rath and junior Jack Pennington were South Division picks and junior Will Cavanagh was honorable mention.
