PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Washington’s Greyson Hartman took his momentum from the spring and brought it into last week’s New Balance Nationals in Philadelphia, taking eighth place in the shot put throw.
Hartman threw the shot put over 61 feet, jumping from 28th place to seventh on his third throw of the competition, before being passed by one competitor to wind up in eighth.
Hartman competed against high school track stars from all around the country. Other placewinners in the shot put were from New Jersey, Virginia, Connecticut and Georgia.
Hartman just wrapped up his sophomore year at Washington, competing at state in both discus and shot put. Hartman finished third in the state discus throw and fourth in the shot put.
