WAYLAND - The New London girls' basketball team was down to just one player on Saturday in an SEISC South Division game at WACO. Due to injuries and foul trouble, the Tigers played 5-3, 5-2 and then 5-1 for a very brief time in the fourth quarter. The short-handed Tigers, who have just seven players on the roster, fell by four points, 51-47 to the Warriors. The WACO girls completed the season sweep after beating New London 43-42 in New London earlier this season.
Marah Hartrick was the final player in the gamd for New London when the fourth quarter buzzer sounded,
It wasn't the only oddity of the day for the WACO girls. The Warriors played two games in one day, going 1-1 in their doubleheader. The Warriors and Tigers played in the morning, and WACO turned around and went to Central Lee in the evening, falling 65-43.
