It was a busy week for the Mid-Prairie girls? golf team so far this week, with a couple of meets.
On Monday, the Golden Hawks went to Tipton for a conference dual, and fell by three strokes to the Tigers, 206-209.
?209 is our lowest meet score for the year and to come off a not-so-good performance on Friday and play well today was nice to see,? Mid-Prairie girls? golf coach Tracy McArtor said. ?We still have some opportunities to improve, especially around the greens, and will work hard the rest of this week on that part of the game as we get ready for the RVC meet next week.?
Ally Wertz claimed a 45 on the day, earning meet medalist honors for Mid-Prairie, followed by Paige Slabaugh, who used a hole-in-one on the day to post a 48.
Olivia Nisly had a 56 for the Hawks, while Lindsey Palmer had a 60 to round out the counting scores.
Kenzie Bontrager recorded a 64, while Abby Statler notched a 68 on the day.
On Wednesday, the Golden Hawks hosted a meet at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside, and took third in the four-team meet.
The Hawks scored another 209 on the day, while Wilton shot a 203 and West Liberty claimed a 208.
?The girls had another good showing tonight against three other really good conference schools,? McArtor said. ?This was a good test for them as we get prepared for conference meet.?
Wertz led the Hawks with a 50 at the meet, while Slabaugh shot a 51 on the day.
Nisly and Palmer carded 54s for the Hawks, while Bontrager and Statler both shot 65s.
Mid-Prairie?s next meet will be at conference, held at Saddleback Ridge Golf Course in Solon on Tuesday morning.
