Hawks take first at IMS

Three Top 5 finishes for the Mid-Prairie boys? cross-country team helped the Golden Hawks take the crown at the IMS Invitational at the Wellman Golf Course on Monday night.

Sophomores Peyton Miller and Floyd Evans and senior Ryan Errthum earned top finishes for the Hawks in the race and the Golden Hawks outscored Williamsburg by 13 points to take the meet title.

Miller finished in second with a time of 17:17 at the meet, with Floyd Evans taking third place with a 17:34. Errthum finished in fifth place with a 17:39.

Junior Andrew Schwartz took 11th at the meet, clocking a time of 18:11, while senior Ben Stone claimed 16th for the Hawks with an 18:25 to round out the Mid-Prairie score for the day.

Sophomore Marshal Teets finished in 22nd for the Hawks with an 18:41, while Quinn Schmidt finished in 26th with an 18:48 for the final Mid-Prairie varsity runner on the day.

On the girls? side, sophomore Anna Hostetler led the charge with a second-place finish for the Golden Hawks, running a 20:22.

The next group of Hawks finished in a bunch, with Hannah Van Roekel taking 17th with a 22:08, followed by Greta Schmidt in 18th with a 22:12. Kessa Jones finished in 20th with a 22:15, while Maddi Zahradnek finished in 21st with a 22:36 to round out the scoring places.

Abby Tornow took 23rd for the Hawks with a 22:47, while Shelby Zahradnek took 55th with a 26:34 at the race to round out the varsity runners.

The Hawks took third place to Fairfield and Williamsburg at the meet.
