Hennigan named All-State

CARROLL - It is a special student that can excel of the field of play and in the classroom.
Washington's Cade Hennigan is just such a student.
The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association released its choices for Academic All-State and Hennigan was the only area player to make the team.
Twenty-three select student-athletes were named on the First Team and 24 more were Second Team.
Hennigan was a first teamer.
The 33rd All-Academic All-State Team has been selected by a panel of coaches who evaluate senior players who demonstrate outstanding academic, moral, and athletic characteristics.
First Team members were honored at the All-Star Banquet, which was conducted Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Carrollton Inn Banquet Center in Carroll.
