For the fourth-straight year, the Washington Demons are honoring those who serve our country.
Next Friday, Aug. 25, the Demons face Albia on the gridiron.
That night also will be Heroes Night, a chance to honor anyone who is a veteran, currently serving in the military, reserves, law enforcement, fire department medical and rescue services as well as those who serve our community in the area as a public servant.

Coach Garrison Carter says of the event, ?Demon Football and America are the two greatest things in the world.
?This night is so much more than just a football game. America is the greatest country in the world, and this game is a great chance to honor all of those who serve us and allow us to live the lives we have.?
The activities will begin at 4:15 p.m. with a caravan going from Washington High School to Case Field.
At the field, there will be a hospitality tent for heroes provided by Fareway. Afterward, they are invited to join the team on the field during the varsity warmups.
They are also invited to join the team on the field for the national anthem, with special seating on the track for those who wish stay and enjoy the football game.
Anyone wishing to take to the field will need to be at the 5-yard line by 7:15 p.m.
All questions can be made to Kris Pierson at kpierson@washington.k12.ia.us. or by calling the high school at 319-653-2143.
