Miller, Bonebrake home runs highlight streak
LETTS — The Highland baseball team has won three straight after a season-opening loss.
Friday the Huskies routed Louisa-Muscatine 15-5 on the Falcons field with two runs in every inning until the sixth when five crossed the plate, enough to end the game after Louisa-Muscatine did not score in the bottom of the frame.
Eleven stolen bases and eight walks helped the win along with Trevor McFarland and Logan Bonebrake combining to throw six innings. Bonebrake walked seven, fanned six with three walks and two hits. McFarland struck out two with one hit. Chase Schultz had three hits.
Huskies roar past Lions
RIVERSIDE — A nine-run first inning propelled Highland to a 15-2 win over Lone Tree Thursday.
Luke Miller connected on his first career home run, and Brenton Bonebrake clubbed two dingers for Highland. Miller was 3-for-3. Connor Grinstead went all five innings with five strikeouts, two earned runs allowed, five hits and three walks.
Demons downed
DAVENPORT — Washington played its only game of the season thus far on Wednesday at Brady Street Stadium. The Demons lost 6-5 after scoring three runs in the top of the first inning.
Eagles falter
KEOTA — The Eagles lost to visiting English Valleys, 8-2, despite Carson Sprouse striking out nine over five innings. team could never recover from a six run third and Keota fell 8-2. Caden Clarahan had one of five Keota hits and the only run batted in.
