Highland blew out visiting WACO 48-0 on Friday night to earn a No. 3 seed in the Class A playoffs.
Highland junior quarterback Kody Wood was 9-for-12 passing for 149 yards and three touchdowns. He threw touchdown passes to seniors Talon McFarland, Derrick Stewart and Jake Tate.

Highland blew out visiting WACO 48-0 on Friday night to earn a No. 3 seed in the Class A playoffs.
Highland junior quarterback Kody Wood was 9-for-12 passing for 149 yards and three touchdowns. He threw touchdown passes to seniors Talon McFarland, Derrick Stewart and Jake Tate.
Stewart also rushed for 203 yards and two touchdowns for the Huskies (6-3, 5-2 District 5). Senior Trey Brenneman added 44 yards and a score, and junior Jesse Hootman ran for a 2-yard touchdown.
Highland?s defense, which was led by senior Tyler Owens? 10 tackles, held the district?s top rushing team to just 24 yards on the ground. The district?s top rusher, WACO senior Tyler Ayers, was limited to just five yards on 11 carries.
Senior Ben Fear threw for 103 yards for the Warriors (6-3, 4-3 District 5).
Highland will travel to BGM (7-2) for Wednesday night?s first-round playoff game, while WACO will travel to Lynnville-Sully (7-2).
