Highland boys basketball team advances in postseason
WELLMAN - A chance to advance in the postseason was on the line for two area teams Thursday, Feb. 16, as Mid-Prairie was host to Highland in Class 2A District 9 action.
Unfortunately for one of the two teams, a loss would mean the end of their season. That loss was handed to Mid-Prairie as the Highland Huskies won by a 73-44 final score.

Highland had three players score in double-digits with Zach Lasek having 20 points. Trent Lasek scored 15 and Chase Rath had 14.
Mid-Prairie scoring was led by Carter Reinier with 12 points, Caleb Statler had 11 and Derek Rich scored seven.
Kyle Miller had six points in the game, Brad Tornow had five and Dominic Pickard scored three.
The Golden Hawks end their season with a 7-17 record while Highland improves to 18-4.
They will play against Central Lee in Washington Tuesday, Feb. 21, beginning at 7 p.m.
