Highland downs Lone Tree

It was a tough start to the week for two area volleyball teams but a good night for Highland Tuesday, holding Lone Tree to a combined 16 points in Sets 2 and 3 during a 3-1 win.
Panthers can't dodge Arrows
The Arrows targeted a 3-0 win at Pekin Tuesday in a North Division match. Wapello notched the win, 25-22, 25-13, 25-21.
Erika Coleman put up 10 assists to her Pekin teammates with Claire Roth, Emma Phillips and Taylor Gambell combining for 18 kills. Phillips added three blocks and Kaylee Peiffer two. Gambell had eight digs and Kadlyn Johnson seven
Golden Hawks drop 2
Mid-Prairie (7-15) lost 25-16, 25-22, 25-13 at Iowa City Regina (12-8) Monday and 25-22, 25-22, 25-16 to Tipton (3-19) in a home match Tuesday.
In the two matches, Landry Pacha totaled 35 assists and 25 digs and Amber Swart got to 31 digs for Mid-Prairie. Tori Boyse snapped off 14 kills and had three blocks and Phelan Hostetler five blocks. Karson Jehle connected on six kills while Ella Groenewold nine kills and seven blocks.
Mid-Prairie hosts one pool of the River Valley Conference tournament tonight with Tipton and North Cedar visiting.
Huskies fell Lone Tree
The Huskies won a Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division match 3-1 Tuesday on the road. Highland caught fire in the middle sets after dropping the opener. Highland scored a 18-25, 25-8, 25-8, 25-23 victory over the Lions.
