Highland girls fall at Belle Plaine

RIVERSIDE - The Highland girls basketball team couldn't overcome a fiery Belle Plaine first quarter on Monday night. The Huskies fell 69-56 in a nonconference game.
Highland trailed 22-12 after the first quarter, 38-28 at halftime and 58-42 after three quarters.
Despite the loss, Highland had two players over 20 points. Abbi Stransky scored 23, and Dani Laughlin finished with 21. Kayla Cerny scored seven points and Jessica Kraus had five.
