Highland improves to 10-0 in conference play
No. 6 Highland broke open Monday?s Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division softball game at WACO with nine runs in the fifth inning, and the Huskies won 13-1 in five frames.

Highland (20-2, 10-0 SEISC North) tallied 15 hits in the win. Senior Kassie Vazquez went 2-for-3, drove in two runs and scored two runs herself. Junior Jordan Rath was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run, and eighth-grader Kelsey Hora went 2-for-3 and scored a pair of runs. Sophomore Bridget Murphy went 2-for-4, scored a pair of runs and drove one in, and sophomore Courtnee Hahn was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Sophomore Morgan Craig had a triple and an RBI in the game, and sophomore Bailey Walsh had a double and two RBIs. Senior Paige Wieland, freshman Briana Davis and freshman Cheyann Adamson each chipped in a hit.
Meanwhile, Highland sophomore pitcher Katie Springer allowed one run on just one hit in five innings. She struck out five batters and walked one.
