Highland knocked out in SEISC semis

DONNELLSON — The last of the Union area’s soccer teams in the 2025 Southeast Iowa Super Conference tournament was knocked out on Friday evening.
Highland, which upset Hillcrest Academy, in the opening round, was the highest seed remaining in the tournament. The Huskies nearly pulled off another stunner, falling to Mediapolis 2-2 in penalty kicks.
The Bulldogs dominated the penalty kick portion of the game. After nobody could settle it in regulation, Mediapolis beat Highland 3-0 in PKs.
Columbus/Winfield-Mount Union, Danville-New London and WACO were already eliminated from the tournament, all falling in the quarterfinals last week.
