Highland middle school girls win Lone Tree meet
The Highland middle school girls? track and field team won six events and scored 148 points at the Lone Tree meet on April 4 to win the meet for the fifth year in a row.

The Highland middle school girls? track and field team won six events and scored 148 points at the Lone Tree meet on April 4 to win the meet for the fifth year in a row.
The Huskies finished 32 points ahead of second-place WACO.
Kelsey Hora won four individual events for the Huskies, and they came in a wide variety of events. She won the 100-meter dash in 14.20 seconds, but also won the 800-meter run in 2:44.18 and the mile in 5:40.75. Hora also won the long jump competition with a leap of 13 feet, 4 inches. Teammate Zoey Mahler finished second to Hora in both the 800 and the mile with times of 3:00.01 and 6:04.78, respectively, and Sydney Black was second to Hora in the long jump with a leap of 13 feet.
Amy Schnoebelen won the 200-meter hurdles in 35.36 seconds, and teammate Cheyenn Hill-Evans was second in 38.18 seconds. Morgan Welsh finished sixth in the 200-meter hurdles in 39.52 seconds. Schnoebelen also took third in the 100-meter hurdles in 21.34 seconds, and teammate Bailey Harmston was fifth in 22.25 seconds.
The 4x800 relay team of Mahler, Ashley Kirk, Hill-Evans and Welsh took first place in 13:15.22. The quartet of Georgia McDaniel, Harmston, Mikaela Hahn and Victoria Barber took second place in the 800 medley relay in 2:24.03, and the 1,600 medley relay team of Chloe Martin, Hahn, Murphy Beinhart and Black finished second in 5:27.25. Highland?s shuttle hurdle relay team of McDaniel, Harmston, Barber and Schnoebelen took second place in 1:27.41.
Highland?s 4x400 relay team of Emily Walker, Brylee Carolan, Katie Gerot and Kirk took fourth place in 5:08.02, and the quartet of Black, Beinhart, McDaniel and Hahn finished fourth in the 4x100 relay in 1:06.85.
Black took second place in the 200-meter dash in 32.20 seconds, and Beinhart was sixth in 33.16 seconds. Barber finished second in the 400-meter dash in 1:16.01. Megan Arps finished sixth in the discus with a throw of 50 feet, 4 inches.
