Highland, New London, W-MU all move on

A trio of Union Coverage Area volleyball teams moved on to the next round of regionals on Tuesday night.

Highland won a three-set match over Lone Tree in the Class 1A Region 8 tournament. The Huskies will play at No. 8 Holy Trinity in their next game.

Winfield-Mt. Union and No. 11 New London both moved on via forfeit in Class 1A action. Hillcrest Academy had to bow out of their first round game at W-MU in Region 8. They will host No. 14 Notre Dame in Wednesday's second round. New London beat Moulton-Udell by forfeit and will take on Moravia in the second round of the Region 8 bracket.

Keota and Mid-Prairie were both knocked out of the postseason. Keota fell in three sets against Lisbon in the Class 1A Region 8 bracket. Mid-Prairie was swept as well, falling to Williamsburg in Class 3A Region 7 play.
