Highland rallies past Wilton

Highland overcame a two-sets-to-one deficit to defeat Wilton in a Class 2A regional opener on Oct. 17. The Huskies won by scores of 25-20, 22-25, 22-25, 25-20 and 15-12.
?I would have to say it was the best the team has played all year,? Highland head coach Chris Rath said. ?You could tell the girls really wanted to win this game. They actually played as a team, they covered the floor well and executed each play to a T. All of us coaches were in awe after the game. We couldn?t believe how great a game it was.?
Sophomore Sam Dutton dominated at the net for the Huskies (16-15), finishing with nine kills and eight blocks. Senior Kelsey Doreo also had nine kills and five blocks on the night. Sophomore Chelsey Lampe chipped in six kills and four blocks. Senior Taylor McDole had 10 assists, and junior Kaitlin Hora added seven.
Doreo was 22-for-23 serving in the match with three aces, and junior Jordan Rath was a perfect 15-for-15 with an ace. Sophomore Courtnee Hahn was 14-for-16 serving.
Senior Kassie Vazquez had a team-high nine digs.
