The Highland girls basketball team won one road game, but would lose the other one this past week.
Last Friday, the Huskies traveled to Letts to play L-M. They would win by three points 44-41.
Head coach Jody Fink said the game wasn?t pretty for his team.
?We fought through a ton of adversity all night,? Fink said. ?Rebounding ended up even, but they got 13 more offensive rebounds and 20 more shots than us.?
Still, the girls did a good job of being patient and not having self-inflicted turnovers, he added.
?The bench came up huge in overtime and gained a bunch of big time experience in a hostile type game,? Fink said.
On Tuesday, Highland traveled to Pekin. They would lose that game 33-59.
?We didn?t execute,? Fink said. ?We were sloppy with the ball and rushed our shots. Pekin was more physical and wanted it more than we did.?
Rebounding and turnover battles weren?t very good against Pekin and didn?t help the team Tuesday, he added.
