Highland swept rival Lone Tree on Senior Night, defeating the Lions by scores of 25-22, 28-26 and 25-22.
The Huskies (15-15, 5-4 SEISC North) struggled from the start with some errors, but their serving kept them in Tuesday?s match. Senior Kelsey Doreo went 14-for-16 serving with eight aces, and senior Paige Wieland was 9-for-11 with five aces. Senior Kassie Vazquez was 11-for-12 with three aces, and junior Jordan Rath went a perfect 12-for-12 with a pair of aces.
Doreo also led the Huskies at the net with eight kills and four blocks, and sophomore Sam Dutton also had four blocks. Rath added five kills, and Wieland had four. Junior Kaitlin Hora had nine assists, and senior Taylor McDole had six. Wieland and Vazquez both had 12 digs in the match.
