Highland wins pair of duals
The Highland wrestling team picked up a pair of conference dual victories on Thursday night by taking down Lone Tree and Van Buren.
Against the Lions, Highland took a 42-24 victory, which saw the Huskies claim five forfeit victories, while against Van Buren, the Huskies claimed a 39-21 victory.
Highland?s match against Lone Tree saw three matches wrestled, with the Lions taking two of them.

The Highland wrestling team picked up a pair of conference dual victories on Thursday night by taking down Lone Tree and Van Buren.
Against the Lions, Highland took a 42-24 victory, which saw the Huskies claim five forfeit victories, while against Van Buren, the Huskies claimed a 39-21 victory.
Highland?s match against Lone Tree saw three matches wrestled, with the Lions taking two of them.
At 120 pounds, defending state champion Bryce West claimed the victory for Highland, pinning Aaron Slaughter at 1:10, while Lone Tree picked up wins by fall at 138 and 145.
Drew West, Cory Stewart, Ross Frank, Spencer Wieland, Colton Hill and Brady Hahn all earned wins by forfeit against Lone Tree.
While facing Van Buren, the Huskies earned four match victories on the night en route to the victory.
Hahn (113 pounds) picked up a pinfall at 1:14 for the Huskies, while Bryce West (126), Drew West (132) and Frank (152) each earned pins in less than 30 seconds.
Cory Stewart (138) claimed a 4-3 decision over Van Buren?s Caleb Stoltz for the Huskies.
Adikhan Makhat and Hill earned wins by forfeit.
Highland will head to Aplington-Parkersburg on Saturday for a tournament that will feature Dike-New Harford, Benton and Maquoketa Valley.
