Highland wrestlers take two weekend duals
The Highland wrestling team had a busy start to 2016, participating in five duals at Eddyville-Blakesburg on Saturday.
After all was said and done, Highland took two dual victories home with them, claiming a 48-12 victory over Moravia and a 51-12 win over North Mahaska.
In the dual against Moravia, Highland picked up two wins by forfeit, and six wins by pin fall.

The Highland wrestling team had a busy start to 2016, participating in five duals at Eddyville-Blakesburg on Saturday.
After all was said and done, Highland took two dual victories home with them, claiming a 48-12 victory over Moravia and a 51-12 win over North Mahaska.
In the dual against Moravia, Highland picked up two wins by forfeit, and six wins by pin fall.
Brady Hahn (120 pounds), Bryce West (126 pounds), Drew West (132 pounds), Cory Stewart (138 pounds), Ross Frank (152 pounds) and Spencer Wieland (170 pounds) were among those earning pins for the Huskies.
Against North Mahaska, the Huskies picked up four wins by forfeit, with Bryce West, Drew West, Stewart, and Frank each earning pin falls.
Wieland notched a 6-1 decision in his match to round out the scoring for Highland.
In the three dual losses, Highland fell to Eddyville-Blakesburg 45-36, Camanche 47-22 and Mt. Pleasant 42-37.
Against the Panthers, Drew West and Bryce West each notched pin falls, and were joined by Frank, in earning six points for the Huskies.
Both teams traded forfeits throughout the match, with Mt. Pleasant picking up five, and Highland earning two free victories.
Against Eddyville, Highland earned wins by fall from Wieland, Bryce and Drew West and Frank, while Highland picked up two wins by forfeit.
In the dual against Camanche, Highland picked up victories from Drew West by a 13-1 major decision, Spencer Wieland by a 5-1 decision and Brady Hahn by a 10-9 decision.
The Huskies had two forfeit victories in the dual.
Highland will prepare for its home tournament on Saturday, which will feature Columbus, Washington, Muscatine and West Branch.
