Highland wrestling team competes at L-M

The Highland wrestling team joined WACO at a dual at Louisa-Muscatine (L-M) Thursday, Dec. 15. Highland lost to WACO 24-54 and lost to L-M 10-63 and WACO fell to L-M 18-64.

In the matchup between WACO and Highland, Cullen Klebe (Highland, 113) pinned Scott Christofferson in 1:24. Cory Stewart (Highland, 132) won by fall in 0:49 over Jalen Collins.

Brady Hahn (Highland, 138) won by fall in 1:26 over Chase Hesseltine and Dan Burton (Highland, 152) won over Hunter Donaldson by fall in 1:26.

Winning by forfeit from WACO were Adrian Unternahrer (170), Tim Ackles (182), Isaiah Johnson (195), Kade McKinney (220), Cody Crawford (285), Jaden Williams (120), Robert Frazer (126), Joey Collier (145) and Michael Arbogast (160).

Taking to the mats first for Highland was Klebe who lost by fall in 2:36 to Cody Calvelage. Stewart won by a 9-1 decision over Max Mashek. Hahn lost by a 4-1 decision to Austin Leopard. Burton won by fall in 2:43 over Jacob Schutterle.

Those winning by forfeit from L-M were Hunter Connor (182), Jared Henkel (195), Gabe Hayes (220), Matthew Gillaspie (106), Chase Kruse (120), Gage Connor (126), Adam Starkweather (145), Sutton James (160) and Samuel Kessel (170).

On the mat between WACO and L-M first was Arbogast (160) who won by fall in 3:10 over Schutterle. Ackles (170) lost by fall in 1:22 to Kessel. Johnson (182) lost by fall in 0:39 to Connor. McKinney (220) won by fall over Hayes in 4:59.

Christofferson (113) lost by fall in 0:27 to Calvelage. Williams lost by fall in 1:06 to Kruse. Frazer (126) lost by fall in 1:00 to Connor. Collins lost by fall in 1:53 to Mashek.
