Highland sophomore Kamryn Fink and Mid-Prairie junior Morgyn Bender continue to rack up postseason accolades. The pair were named to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association’s all-state teams Thursday.
Bender landed on the Class 3A all-state third team, while Fink was named to the third team for Class 1A. Both players were also selected to the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association all-state teams last week.
Fink’s selection adds to a growing list of honors that also includes a spot on the IPSWA all-state second team, a 1A all-Southeast district nod from the IGCA and a unanimous first team All-Southeast Iowa Super Conference North selection.
Highland’s sophomore sensation averaged 16.6 points and 12.6 rebounds per game. She led the Huskies in all five major statistical categories and helped the team to a 16-0 conference record.
Bender has now been named to the 3A all-state third team by both the IPSWA and IGCA. Bender was also a unanimous first-team All-River Valley Conference selection after she led Mid-Prairie with 13.3 points per game and 47 made 3-pointers.
Mid-Prairie finished the season with an 18-6 record, including a 12-2 mark in the RVC North division.
