Hillcrest Academy holds off Fairfield

FAIRFIELD — The Hillcrest Academy and Fairfield boys basketball teams squared off on Saturday night in what was both’s final game of the 2024 season.
It was a winning evening for the Ravens of Hillcrest Academy, as they downed Fairfield by a score of 54-48.
Fairfield looked to be in control early as the Trojans held a 14-7 advantage over the Ravens after one quarter.
However, the second quarter made all the difference. Hillcrest Academy put together its most dominant period of the night in the second, outscoring Fairfield 17-4 to make it 24-18 at halftime. That was both the highest point total of the night for Hillcrest and the lowest for Fairfield.
In the second half, the Ravens and Trojans were dead even in scoring at 30-30, culminating in the narrow Raven victory.
Seth Ours scored 18 for the Ravens. Bryce Bailey and Rowan Miller each added 10.
Riley Perkins finished with 14 for Fairfield. Eli Zillman and Lucas Konczal had 13 and 10 respectively.
Hillcrest Academy moves to 7-1 on the season and Fairfield 1-6.
