Hillcrest sweeps home baseball tournament
Ravens get wins over Keokuk, English Valleys

KALONA — Hillcrest has an enrollment an eighth of what Keokuk has attending its high school.
That’s why they play the games. Hillcrest hosted a baseball tournament, the Hillcrest Classic, Saturday, opening with an 8-3 win over English Valleys and closing with an 11-1 (5) win over Keokuk.
Aiden Krabill did not allow English Valleys a hit in four innings on the mound. He struck out eight and walked five. Luke Schrock threw two innings with three strikeouts, three hits, no walks and two earned runs. London Schrock threw an inning with two hits, no walks and a strikeout.
Luke Schrock connected on a triple and three singles with two runs batted in. Jace Rempel had a single and a double. Eli Ours laced a triple.
Seth Ours recorded a complete game of five innings for Hillcrest, allowing a Keokuk run in the first inning before settling in to record two strikeouts, three walks and three hits. Ours has yet at attend high school as he will be a freshman this fall.
Ours was also effective at the plate with two hits in three at-bats. Jace Rempel and Luke Schrock also went 2-for-3 and Schrock had three RBI.
