Kevin McConnell, an IWC senior from Kansas City, Mo., and Ridge Hobbs, a junior from New London, continue to change the football record books for the Tigers.
With a huge offensive game last week against the Waldorf College Warriors, McConnell and Hobbs moved themselves in multiple categories on the Tigers? all-time lists.
McConnell has put together one of the best careers in Tigers? history at quarterback. His versatility as both a passer and a runner have put him near the top in almost every offensive category as he?s led the high-powered Tigers? offense.
After passing for 312 yards against the Warriors this past Saturday, McConnell has surpassed Tigers? great Wyatt Miller and moved into second all-time in passing yards for the Tigers with 7,088.
McConnell also moved himself into tenth all-time in rushing for the purple in white with a career 1,278 rushing yards.
McConnell is the Tigers? leader is passing touchdowns, with an impressive 52 passes caught for a score. He has also moved into second all-time in total offense with 8,366 yards.
McConnell?s go-to receiver, Hobbs, has moved up the charts with McConnell.
Hobbs is the career leader for the Tigers in touchdown passes caught with 21 total after catching four passes for a score against the Warriors last week. His four touchdown receptions was just one shy of the Tigers? single game record of five set by Bruce Carter in 1991.
Hobbs has an impressive 671 receiving yards so far this season, moving him from tenth to fifth on the career list for the Tigers with 1,850 career receiving yards. He has done so on just 87 receptions, giving him an average of 21.3 yards per catch.
The two Tigers? greats will look to continue to change the records books and carry the momentum from last week?s thrilling victory over Waldorf College as they prepare for the last three games of the season.
The Tigers head to Olivet Nazarene University on Saturday, Oct. 27. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30pm in Bourbonnais, Ill.
