After four years at the helm of the Keota girls? basketball program, Jenny Hobbs will be stepping down from the position at the end of the school year.
In an e-mail to The Washington Evening Journal, she said she is due to give birth in July and feels she won?t be able to give the 100 percent effort she feels is necessary to coach the team.
?I am expecting in July, and could not fully commit to summer development and all other aspects of the job as well as teach six different subjects,? Hobbs said. ?I put in a lot of time scouting, watching film, and game prepping, which I feel just would not get my full attention. I go hard or go home.?
She noted that she will miss the camps the most this summer, and hopes next year to get back on the camp circuit.
Hobbs has accumulated a record of 52-39 over her tenure at Keota, most recently going 11-11 in 2014-15.
Next season will be a new look for Keota, as the Eagles will have a new head coach, as well as having to replace seven seniors who will graduate.
