Homecoming: Winfield-Mount Union wallops Iowa Valley

WINFIELD — A 10-point game at halftime became a 66-42 homecoming victory for Winfield-Mount Union over Iowa Valley in 8-man football Friday.
Last week, Cam Buffington totaled 10 touchdowns for WMU. This week, it was nine on 482 all-purpose yards.
Buffington was 10-of-15 passing for 267 yards and four scores with one interception. He ran 21 times for 164 yards and four touchdowns. He made up for the interception he threw by picking off one of Iowa Valley’s passes and returning it 51 yards for a touchdown.
Caleb Giese totaled 185 yards receiving on six catches with half of them WMU touchdowns. Abram Edwards had four catches, one was a touchdown, that totaled 82 yards.
Edwards had 2.5 sacks. Buffington racked up 13.5 tackles on defense. Noah Sparrow had 12.5.
WMU (2-0) plays at New London (1-0) Friday.
